Introduction

Leadership requires self-identified individuals who know themselves and understand who they are and how to change. A personal leadership model is an example of identifying personal values, actions and behaviors that reflect good leadership. The following report presents a personal leadership model by presenting the values represented in individual, interpersonal, organization, and society. The study also presents the impacts of the personal model of leadership and an individual contribution to the personal, interpersonal, organizational, and society.

Values Incorporated in Leadership

Value Representing the Four Levels

Individual

A broad-minded person qualifies to be valuable on all four levels, especially in an individual capacity. Being broad-minded means being able to challenge oneself to different things personally and accepting diversity. According to Bonsu and Twum-Danso (2018), in addition to learning to adapt to the cultures and beliefs from the past, and that will arrive, what the many lectures and panels at the event reinforced is that professionals will have to go beyond their understanding. There are many challenges in life, and people should be willing to accept new ideas in handling them.

Interpersonal

On an interpersonal level, they are broad-minded and play a significant role in how people interact. That is how people see each other and how they accommodate each other defines the whole life prospect. With broad-minded value, one will not be guided by judgment and will not cause unnecessary conflict and conflict between others if one just let their heart and mind remain open to acceptance and knowledge about other people (Harvey et al., 2019). Whether in professional or social interactions, listening to people, understanding them, and accepting diversity make life easier for everyone.

Organizational

After individual and interpersonal consideration, the organizational level is also impacted by broad-minded values. In this context, the ability to organize and promote a team to an advanced level involves teamwork that can only be attained by being open-minded. Close-minded people don’t want to have their ideas questioned, which is a failure at the organizational level. Their typical reaction when questioned is one of frustration rather than curiosity to understand the other’s point of view better.

Societal

These days, it is prevalent for closed-minded people to promote animosity furthermore disrespect between gatherings they don’t have any idea or figure out in society. It is vital to keep a receptive outlook and embrace one another (Bialystok, 2019). Despite cultural contrasts, everyone can learn how to esteem each other and experience new and various thoughts. It causes the world a prime spot and assists the general public with coming together. Keeping the general public a protected, tranquil, endlessly cherishing spot to live is vital.

Leadership Behaviors and Actions Resulting from the Selected Values

Various actions and behaviors have led to the selection of broad-minded values and the representative at the individual, interpersonal, organizational, and societal levels. One primary leadership behavior is the ability to listen to the team without discrimination. Despite the age, gender, or level in personal and professional life, people should listen to and welcome new ideas from others. One needs to listen to the opinions of others, even if they are contrary, and still think rationally and calmly about the merits of each one.

Meaning and Purpose of the Selected Values

The meaning and purpose of broad-minded are to learn more about different people, things, and places, get people’s perspectives and discuss how amazing different people can be. Being open-minded is about acknowledging the possibilities one encounter (Kelemen et al., 2021). It means being receptive to ideas that seem crazy, that sound unfamiliar, strange, and even repulsive. It is accepting everything that comes to the mind and not rejecting anything out of the box. It means being patient with wacky, bold theories while the rest of the world doesn’t mind giving them their due.

To Myself and Others

On a personal level, the personal model of leadership helps in understanding personal values and how they can be applied at different levels. A model is a form of self-leadership where personal thinking towards the world is influenced. Identifying personal values and ranking them to their importance in self-growth leads to more personal growth. The model also creates meaning and purpose by answering the question of how to develop myself to survive in a competitive and complex environment. How people relate to each other is the ultimate purpose of social and professional relationships. The leadership model creates meaning and purpose for others by identifying interpersonal values and understanding which values should be portrayed to others. It is a method that helps people understand each other and change how they see each other.

To Organizations and Society

The personal leadership model creates meaning and purpose for the organization by impacting the level of understanding of the organization’s scope. Organization requires people who identify their values and have personal goals to achieve. In this sense, organizations benefit from leaders who can contribute to creating a favorable climate. The organization gets the best leaders and employees as an individual purpose to achieve terminal values. Society is one of the crucial components of shaping terminal and instrumental values. Being a part of society means dealing with diverse conditions, values, and expectations. Therefore, the personal leadership model directs the sense of meaning and purpose in society by identifying how to incorporate others, manage society’s expectations and understand behaviors and actions that help build the society.

Impact of My Contributions

To Myself and Others

Self-leadership is my most enormous contribution to myself as it helps me understand my weaknesses and strengths. My contribution to my personal growth helps me identify how to manage expectations and use values. I also reflect on my values, knowing what to act on and what to keep growing. My personal understanding of instrumental and terminal values contributes to how I relate to others. I contribute to how people see me and what to expect from me. This expectation means that the more I understand other people, the more we can relate and live harmoniously.

To Organizations and Society

Being able to create value for the organization is my contribution. Creating value means having more say in what happens in the organization and leading people effectively. Setting goals in the organization and meeting them is another contribution that helps create value in the company. My contribution to society is helping the coexistence of different elements in it. Be it people or things, society requires harmonious existence, which is derived from people having the best values. Thus, making existing easier by helping, listening, and leading others helps society is how my contribution to society.

Conclusion

In conclusion, various values were identified by developing the personal leadership model. Being open-minded was identified as a value used in individual, interpersonal, organization, and society. Behaviors and actions such as listening and considering other people’s opinions were identified. The personal leadership model was useful on personal, interpersonal, societal, and organizational levels. Generally, personal leadership is imperative in understanding personal values, the purpose of others, the scope of an organization, and the values stipulated by society.
