Due to the current events, such as the pandemic and mass protests against police brutality and racial discrimination, many organizations start to promote diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI) policies within their workplace. A diversity policy ensures that a company has a different range of people, while inclusivity means including them equally in the conversation. Equity policy refers to treating everyone fairly and recognizing the value of each worker.

Now the primary goal of business structures is to diminish discrimination at all costs. Moreover, individuals are more interested in companies that ensure DEI because of overall job satisfaction. Promoting diversity, equity and inclusion increases the creativity and critical thinking of workers, as there is a diverse conversation with multiple points of view. However, there are some issues associated with the implementation of DEI policies.

First of all, the lack of studies on certain strategies of DEI makes it difficult for employers to choose the correct strategy of how to effectively implement the policies. Furthermore, employers do not know how to make a diverse workplace, as DEI policies are a new trend in the business world. Indeed, there are five aspects that employees should consider while making decisions about DEI policies. They are diversity, equity, inclusion, belonging, and respect that should be developed within the workplace.

One more issue is that some employees do not want to accept new DEI policies. Compared to previous decades, today many organizations provide various pieces of training sessions and information desks to make employees aware of DEI policies. Additionally, many research institutions and employers are interested in conducting studies on DEI policies to provide a more diverse workforce. With the help of researchers and professionals, it is possible to promote and operate DEI policies within business structures.
