Mariott International is one of the most known companies in the hospitality industry worldwide. However, as in the case of any other business, the decisions of its managers affect the overall efficiency of operations and create a particular reputation for this chain of hotels (Lock, 2021). Therefore, it is critical to examine strengths, weaknesses, opportunities, and threats for this organization in order to determine its current position in the market.

Currently, Mariott International benefits from the global nature of its activity. The hotels operate in more than 7500 locations around the world, and they are reported to be leaders in the field while ensuring positive customer feedback (Lock, 2021). From this perspective, the strengths include the scope of work and satisfaction with rendered services, whereas the weaknesses are connected to the lack of flexibility. It is explained by the fact that it does not implement any innovations and maintains the principal orientation on families as its main clients (Lock, 2021). In this situation, the opportunities for future development are expanding the number of services and reassessing the customer base while entering new markets. Nevertheless, they might be ineffective due to high competition in the area, evolving needs and perceptions of people, and the ongoing pandemic (Lock, 2021). It means that careful consideration of any potential obstacles on the way is required.

In conclusion, the position of Mariott International on the market seems stable while being affected mostly by external circumstances. The internal factors, which appear to be unfavorable for the business, are easy to eliminate, but the market conditions might be detrimental to new initiatives. Thus, it can be stated that the hotels’ situation seems unclear from the perspective of their profitability in the future in the context of significant threats.
