Introduction

Business communication is a set of relationships that arise in exchanging experience, activities, or information to achieve specific results and resolve certain problems. Business communication aims to implement the intended purpose, which is the central theme of the conversation, and contribute to its direction in the necessary direction (Kalogiannidis & Papaevangelou, 2020). Business communication aims to resolve mutual issues of the subjects of the communication process, so the termination of the interaction is unfavorable for each party. Both parties must maintain communication at the appropriate level and express respect for each other’s position so that the conversation does not bring discomfort and is resolved calmly and delicately (Skripak & Tech, 2020). Although goals and objectives are present in any communication process, in business communication, they are usually highly specialized and focused on specific areas of information. For example, marketing department business communication is built around discussing product promotion strategies, while development communication is built around creating unique products. Business communication may vary in the degree and manner of interaction, but invariably the goal is to achieve a mutual understanding of the issues and tasks at hand.

Effective Business Communication

Effective communication in the workplace is formed when employees imagine why they need to communicate and come to a common denominator. Essential conditions that create an environment for business communication are proper staff motivation and the development of personal accountability for results (Velumyan, 2019). Motivation will be achieved if managers know how to offer staff potential plans for personal and professional growth achievable with business communication. Personal accountability is managed by implementing individualized and standardized forms and action packages to guide performance (Velumyan, 2019). Business communication is the primary tool that benefits a company when expanding its potential or capturing a new market or territory. When recruiting new employees, business communication training should be in the lead to increase the customer base (Kalogiannidis & Papaevangelou, 2020). The supervisor is the primary source of knowledge and training for their staff in business communication skills. In addition to leading by example, they also create a business culture that fosters communication.

Negotiation as the Most Used Form of Business Communication

The main form of business communication is negotiation, which is characterized by the achievement of a positive result of a jointly made decision. Negotiations aim to expand business cooperation: for example, two companies discuss the creation of a joint product, or one company buys the goods of the other at an agreed price (Schoop, 2021). They can concern the conclusion of contracts for research or design work, the negotiation of an agreement and cooperation, or the coordination of joint work (Skripak & Tech, 2020). In order to achieve positive results in business negotiations, certain conditions must be taken into account. These include problem-solving, establishing trust between business partners, and controlling communication’s emotional and social background.

Conclusion

Business negotiations consider the already existing program of action: a list of discussed issues that require joint discussion and decision. A reasoned point of view on the issue affects the effectiveness of the negotiation process (Schoop, 2021). Formulation of a common position, and discussion of fundamental points, which are not contradictory for consideration, serves as the basis for an effective negotiation process. The various sessions are structured along the lines of discussion so that each side contributes to solving a common problem and facilitates business communication between the team and its various parts.
