Leadership Skills

In the process of moving towards the goal, the leader must show flexibility. This is an opportunity to have a large number of strategies and choices. This allows you to act most effectively in each specific situation. One of the varieties of the flexibility of mind and actions is the ability to go beyond the system. Therefore, for me, this is manifested in the ability to control the situation in difficult moments and solve problems consistently and calmly. In the modern world, the value of this leadership quality is very high. Being sociable is important not only as a leader but also in any other situation.

The ability to communicate effectively with the people you need is the key to success. This aspect is inherent in me as I start conversations, supporting various topics constantly. This gives me the opportunity to interact actively with people and make new acquaintances. The whole team should work together with the leader to improve the leading indicators in a friendly environment. This is helped by the creation of group work when the result depends on the overall effort. This brings the team members closer together and allows them to cope with the tasks more effectively.

Leading and Following

Leadership-service is leadership from top to bottom, as the leader’s interests expand to serve others and his organization. The activity of the leader-servant is carried out on two levels: it is aimed at fulfilling the subordinates’ goals and meeting their needs, on the one hand, and at realizing the general goals or mission of their organization, on the other. A manager of this type transfers authority to subordinates, exchanges ideas and information with colleagues, recognizes employees’ achievements, and trusts them (Eva et al., 2019). Such leaders value the professionalism of other people, stimulate their natural desire for learning, growth, and creativity, increase self-esteem, take responsibility, share power, and encourage participation in problem-solving. Service leaders increase employees’ motivation to work by linking it with organizational goals and mission. They think more about the interests of the organization than about their own. Thus, adhering to this approach, I strive to combine the two qualities of leading and following. It is necessary to understand the needs of colleagues and correctly build relationships, listening to the opinions of others.

Leadership Style

Democratic leadership style is a set of management methods, the style of behavior of the chief, based on a harmonious combination of autocracy and active participation of personnel in organizational matters and making managerial and other decisions. As a leader who adheres to this direction, I prefer methods of persuasion when working with subordinates, and I am confident in their responsibility, professionalism, and diligence. The main features of the democratic leadership style are fairness and reasonable order of rewards and penalties (Eva et al., 2019). Creative approaches to business, initiative, and diligence are strongly encouraged. As a leader, I try to pay attention to the qualities and talents of colleagues so that they can work out their own ideas and initiatives in every possible way.

This approach contributes to the establishment of trusting relationships between all members of the team. A true Democratic leader does not accept both authoritarianism and liberal permissiveness, balancing between them and representing the golden mean.
